Special elections were held on May 1st in House Districts 39 (Auburndale) and 114 (Coral Gables). Republican Josie Tomkow won her seat in District 39 against Democrat Ricky Shirah. She replaces former Representative Neil Combee. In House District 114, Democrat Javier Fernandez beat out Republican Andrew Vargas and NPA candidate Liz de las Cuevas. He replaces former Representative Daisy Baez.
