HD 13 (Jacksonville) – Reggie Fullwood (D-Jacksonville) will return to the Florida House after a defeating Republican Lawrence “Jeff” Jefferson with 56.78% of the vote. The general election in that race was held on February 17th.
HD 64 (Tampa) The Florida House rejected the results of November’s general election in HD 64 because there were conflicting legal opinions as to whether or not a write-in candidate had improperly withdrawn from the race. Former Representative Jaime Grant won the February 20th primary and will face write-in candidate Daniel John Matthews in a special election on April 21st.
SD 6 (St. Augustine) – Representative Travis Hutson (R-Palm Coast) won the Republican primary election on January 27th to replace Senator John Thrasher, who resigned his seat to become president of Florida State University. Hutson will face Democrat David Cox in the general election on April 7th.
HD 17 (Ponte Vedra Beach) and HD 24 (Palm Coast) – Special primary elections were held for these vacated seats on January 27th and the general election for both seats will be on April 7th. In House District 17, Republican Cyndi Stevenson will face write-in candidate Mary Ann Boczek and NPA candidate Judy Stevens. In House District 24, Republican Paul Renner will challenge Democrat Adam Morley.
