Grant Cornwell Rollins College president Grant Cornwell has announced he will retire in June 2025 after ten years.

David Deno David Deno, CEO of Bloomin’ Brands, has announced his retirement. The Tampa-based company includes popular restaurants such as Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Outback Steakhouse.

Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation Appointed by Secretary Melanie Griffin were Jared Ochs, chief of staff; Emilie Oglesby, deputy secretary of business regulation; and Jared Williams, deputy secretary of professions.

Florida Polytechnic University The trustees of Florida Polytechnic University selected Dr. Devin Stephenson to serve as institution’s next president. He previously served as president of Northwest Florida State College.

Chief Justice Carlos Muñiz The Florida Supreme Court selected Justice Carlos Muñiz to serve a second two-year term as chief justice.

Senator Bobby Powell West Palm Beach Democrat Senator Bobby Powell resigned his Senate seat in District 24 to run for the open District 7 seat on the Palm Beach County Commission. The special elections will be held at the same time as the primary and general elections.

Spencer Roach North Fort Myers Republican Representative Spencer Roach will not seek re-election for a fourth term in state House District 76.

Ken Savage The Lee County School District has selected Ken Savage as interim superintendent following Christopher Bernier’s resignation.
