NEW MOTHERS A new law excuses women from jury duty if they have given birth within six months. Proof must be provided for those seeking the exemption.

SPECIAL DISTRICTS Special districts are created by general law, special act, local ordinance or rule of the Governor and Cabinet. This bill revises and establishes multiple provisions regarding the operation, management, and accountability of special districts in Florida.

CRIME SOLVING The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will create a Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy grant program for state and local law enforcement agencies or medical examiner’s offices for the support of DNA sample processing. This will assist investigators with the identification of unidentified human remains and related forensic crime solving.

DRIVER’S REGISTRATION PROCESS Florida motor vehicle drivers can include voluntary indication of disabilities or disorders when making their driver’s registration application.

HOME HEALTH Advanced practice registered nurses and physician assistants can now order medically necessary home health services for Medicaid recipients.

OFFICE SURGERIES New regulations for medical offices performing certain office surgeries, including liposuction and gluteal fat grafting procedures, will go into effect.

CLERKS OF COURT This bill amends statutes increasing clerk revenue through redistribution of specified service charges and fees.
