TOM LEWIS Thomas Edwin Lewis, Jr. died on December 28th in Tallahassee at the age of 80. Lewis was a retired colonel in the U.S. Air Force. An architect, some of his accomplishments included the design of the State Office Building complex in downtown Orlando and several dormitories at the University of Central Florida. His many years of public service included being a special assistant to Governor Bob Graham, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Transportation, Secretary of the Department of Community Affairs, and Secretary of the Department of Management Services. Lewis spent many years at the Disney Development Company and was involved in the early days of the design of the City of Celebration. He also served as vice president of the Walt Disney Company. Lewis is survived by his wife, Cynthia, two children, and six grandchildren. Services were held on Friday, January 10th in Tallahassee.
