Appointments made by Governor DeSantis:
Florida Supreme Court On May 26th, Governor DeSantis appointed Judge Renatha Francis and John D. Couriel to the Florida Supreme Court. Judge Francis, West Palm Beach, is the first Jamaican American to serve on the Court. A judge for the 15th circuit court, she previously served as judge for the Miami-Dade County court. Couriel, Miami, is a partner at Kobre & Kim LLP. He previously served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.
Grant Conyers Appointed Liberty County supervisor of elections was Grant Conyers, of Bristol. He is the owner and operator of Conyers Hardwood Flooring, Inc., and will serve the remainder of Gina Singletary McDowell’s term following her suspension.
Julie Marcus Appointed Pinellas County supervisor of elections was Julie Marcus, St. Petersburg, chief deputy to the supervisor of elections of Pinellas County. She will serve the remainder of a term vacated by Deborah Clark.
